Persistence is the key to building a prosperous home based business. Studies have shown that it takes a customer seeing your message up to 7 times before they will buy your product or join your business. Following up with prospects just one more time can mean the difference between success and failure. When contacting a customer you obviously want to be persistent without being annoying, so space your contact out over several weeks or even months.
One way to be persistent is to set up an email campaign for your prospects. If you have done much on the Internet then you have probably been a recipient of this yourself. You go to a website that has good information on something that you are interested in and fill out a form to request more info, get on a mailing list, or receive a free report. As a part of that, they also put you in an email campaign where you receive a new email every few days with a bit of useful info and a reminder to check out their offerings. These are set up through an email auto-responder that automatically schedules the emails to get sent to you.
Another company I have come across recently that helps less technical people to accomplish the same thing is Meaningful Mail. They allow you to set up a series of cards to be sent out on a set schedule. When you get a new prospect you can add them to a campaign that gradually gives them more information about your product or service and more reason to join.
Persistence shows your prospect or customer that you are going to be there for the long term and are not someone who will drop the ball. Be persistent about getting your message out and you will succeed.
